Nexavision: Pioneering Audio-Visual Innovations
Founded in October 2023 by Mark Bartlett, Nexavision is built on a legacy of over 25 years of expertise in the audio-visual industry. Our journey began in 1996 with Audiocom, a venture dedicated to selling high-quality audio components to the DIY market. By 1997, our association with Intertechik enabled us to distribute audio components and loudspeaker kits across the UK. Driven by a deep-seated passion for enhancing the sound quality of CD players, DACs, amplifiers, loudspeakers, and cables, we introduced a unique modification service, offering customers a way to elevate the sound quality of their existing Hi-Fi systems.
Key collaborations have been instrumental in this journey. In 1997 John Cheadle contributed significantly to the development of Superclock, a low-jitter clock module designed to be retrofitted into CD players and CD Transports. This innovation marked a significant advancement in audio technology. Further research into power supply noise revealed its crucial role in sound quality improvement and the subsequent development of Super-Regulators.
In the 2000s, we expanded our range of services to include modifications for various well-known audio brands and models. This period involved working on a variety of devices such as Sony’s SACD player, the SCD-1, Cambridge Audio’s DacMagic, and the Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista and Tri-Vista series. Additionally, we enhanced several Marantz CD player models, including the CD-63 SE, CD94, CD12, CD10, and the SA-1 SACD player. Through these modifications, we steadily built our reputation in the audio industry, gradually exploring new aspects of sound and design.
With the introduction of DVD technology and its high-end models like Denon’s DVD-A1 and Pioneer’s DV-717, we recognized an opportunity to extend our modification services to improve not only audio but also video quality. This development represented a significant step in our journey, as we began to integrate visual enhancements with our established audio expertise.
As we transitioned away from selling passive components around 2010 to focus more on modifications, we introduced OPPO Digital to the UK market. This shift was reinforced by our collaboration with the late Henry Feilden, who shared our passion for upgrading DVD players. Our modifications for OPPO Blu-ray models BDP-93 and BDP-95, and our developmental work on the OPPO BDP105 in China, set new standards in audio-visual technology.
By 2016, our focus shifted towards offering OPPO modified players as finished products, namely the ‘Reference Edition’ and ‘Signature Edition’, signalling a new era in our commitment to delivering unparalleled audio-visual experiences.
The year 2018 proved pivotal as we were invited to partner with Christophe Cherel, leading to the development of modifications for ultra-high-end Zappiti players. Our work culminated in the creation of the Zappiti Pro 4K ‘Cinema Edition’, honoured with the Cedia Expo Pro 2020 Best Product award.
